The government is working to support the processing sector of the economy to ensure an increase in the share of value-added products.
For this purpose, a state grant program was launched for the arrangement and modernization of processing enterprises – up to 8 million hryvnias. It can also be used by producers of agricultural products.
The processing industry development program provides for state co-financing of business entities that want to create or develop their business.
Funds are allocated for the purchase of the main means of production (machines, technological equipment) and cover the costs of their delivery and commissioning.
The first 1000 applicants receive a grant of up to 70% of the project cost, for all subsequent applicants – up to 50% of the project cost. Grant recipients must pay the amount of the grant within 3 years in the form of taxes and mandatory payments to the budget, creating jobs depending on the amount of the received grant: in particular, in the case of a grant amount of up to 1.6 million, it is necessary to employ 5 people, with a grant amount of 1.6 to 3.2 million UAH – 10 people, from 3.2 to 4.8 million – 15 people, and from 6.4 million to 8 million UAH – 25 people.
The grant program also provides that to finance their own contribution, business entities can attract additional credit funds under the state program “5-7-9” at 0%.
As the Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Tetyana Hetman, noted, grant support is especially relevant for agricultural producers, most of whom are focused on the production of raw materials, and the creation and development of processing facilities will provide new jobs and added value in the agricultural sector of the economy.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the Government agreed to allocate 44.3 million hryvnias from the reserve fund to finance the first winners of the grant program for the development of processing business. Among the most popular directions in which entrepreneurs implement their projects are the processing of grain, leguminous crops and oilseeds – 3.8%, the production of meat products and meat – 3.2%.
