Financial support will be provided within the Comprehensive Program for the Support and Development of Agriculture for 2021-2025.
In order to create a successful agricultural cooperative experience, the regional budget plans to provide financial support to cooperatives engaged in berry growing. Funds are provided within the framework of the Comprehensive Program for the Support and Development of Agriculture for 2021-2025.
The program envisages two areas of allocation of support: budgetary funds for future costs of creating berry plantations and reimbursement of costs for their establishment. The right to receive financial support is available to existing and newly created agricultural cooperatives, the members of which are at least 3 people – veterans and/or business entities, the founder of which is a veteran.
“The purpose of the program is to help soldiers in their rehabilitation and adaptation to peaceful life through the creation of agricultural cooperatives. It is proposed to start a union in the berry segment due to the stable demand for fresh berries in the middle of the country and the geographical proximity of Lviv Oblast to the EU countries – one of the world’s largest consumers of frozen berries,” said Tetyana Getman, director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Lviv Regional Government.
The Department of Agro-Industrial Development also developed the “Algorithm for the Creation of Agricultural Cooperatives”. This is a step-by-step instruction with a detailed explanation of all economic and operational principles of interaction between members of the cooperative.
