A third of the harvest is left to harvest.
In the fields of agricultural enterprises of the region, more than 63.8% of grain and 67.8% of oil crops were threshed – in the equivalent of sown areas, this is 120.7 and 144.0 thousand hectares, respectively. In total, the harvest was collected from 264.7 thousand hectares, from which about 1110 thousand tons of grain were threshed.
“A third of the harvest is left to be harvested, mainly late crops – soybeans, sunflowers and corn. We hope that the weather conditions will contribute to achieving the forecast volume of grain production,” comments Tetyana Hetman, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of LOVA.
In four districts of the oblast, agricultural enterprises from the group of late grain crops started harvesting corn for grain, of which 2.5% of the sown area was harvested.
According to operational information, as of October 20 of the current year, agricultural enterprises of grain crops collected: 9.9 thousand tons of buckwheat from an area of 6.8 thousand hectares (88.9% before sowing), the yield from this area is 14.6 tons /ha, 15.7 thousand tons of corn from an area of 1.7 thousand ha (2.5%), with a yield of 92.2 tons/ha. At the same time, oil crops were collected: sunflower – 45.5 thousand tons from an area of 16.0 thousand hectares (41.0% of the sown area), the yield from this area is 28.5 tons/ha; soybeans – 225.7 thousand tons from an area of 70.5 thousand hectares (60.6% before sowing), the yield is 32.0 t/ha.
