On Saturday, April 20, the Lviv Farmers’ Fair will open near the Town Hall on Rynok Square. Lviv residents are invited to purchase goods directly from farmers and support local producers. This is already the 5th farmer’s fair in Lviv.
The Farmer’s Fair will be open every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This decision was approved at a meeting of the executive committee of the Lviv City Council today, April 16.
For the fifth year in a row, every Saturday during the summer, two dozen farmers sell their products on Rynok Square. 90% of the producers at the fair are family business owners who have the opportunity to sell and popularize craft products of their own production. During the season, the fair gathers about 90,000 visitors.
“Our mission is to popularize local products among Lviv residents and guests of the city, and at the same time develop a culture of healthy eating. The fair gathers its community of farmers and regular buyers, who traditionally come for fresh products and just to socialize,” said Tetyana Habibrahmanova, head of the external relations and promotion department of the Lviv City Council.
The farmer’s fair on Rynok Square will be held every Saturday until September 29.
As a reminder, in 2019, the old tradition of holding a farmer’s fair was restored on Rynok Square in Lviv. In the 1930s, the market around the town hall was the oldest and most popular.
