On February 23-25, Mukachevo, Zakarpattia Oblast, hosted the Ukrainian Horting Championship in the “Fight” and “Showcase” sections.
The competition was attended by 315 athletes from 12 regions of Ukraine: Kyiv, Kyiv region, Chernihiv region, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Rivne, Lviv, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Volyn, Cherkasy and Kharkiv regions. The Drohobych region was represented by the Galician Lions team of the Drohobych Horting Center and the Sokil team of the Truskavets Horting Center.
As a result of the competition, the athletes from Drohobych won 10 gold medals in the “Showcase Performance” section. Vladyslav Karalius became the champion of Ukraine in the 10-11 years old individual performance category. Danylo Sorokin and Ivan Safonov made their debut in the 12-13 years old pairs category and won. In the Team category, Daryna Kandur, Tymofii Kandur, Dmytro Kryvoruka, Arsen Karalius, and Veronika Tkachuk (Galician Lions, coached by Denys Ivanitskyi) became the champions of Ukraine in 2024. Anastasia Yavna and Danylo Ryabak (Sokil, coached by Iryna Tsygan) won gold in the 14-15 years old mixed pairs category.
