The Lvivsvitlo utility company needs to hire technical workers, including lift mechanics and electricians, as 14% of the company’s specialists have been mobilised to the Armed Forces.
Today, Lvivsvіtlo operates a third of all lifts in the city, provides street lighting for Lviv and its neighbouring communities, and maintains distribution transformer substations.
“We service more than a thousand lifts in Lviv. This is almost a third of all lifts in the city. Every day, our electricians go out for technical inspections of lifts, carry out routine repairs, and install equipment. This is a very painstaking and responsible job.
And now, when we have hourly power cuts, the number of calls about people getting stuck in lifts has increased significantly. That’s why we have created an additional emergency team to respond to such calls. We understand that we need to respond to such things promptly,” says Lvivsvitlo.
In addition, the company maintains tens of thousands of kilometres of street power grid. Every day, Lvivsvit’s electricians repair old lamps and replace them with new LED lamps, which are many times more economical in terms of electricity consumption.
In particular, the company is implementing a project to replace old street lamps in Sykhiv with energy-efficient LED lamps. This will reduce electricity consumption by 4.5-5 times. Reducing electricity consumption will reduce the load on the entire power grid, which is extremely important during periodic enemy attacks on energy facilities.
“Lvivsvit also maintains distribution transformer substations. And it will be building a new substation for the NESLAMNI rehabilitation centre, where our military undergo treatment and rehabilitation. Therefore, the need for professional employees is quite acute for the company, as the life and safety of our city in general and its residents in particular depend on it. The availability of working staff means lighting our streets, electricity in social institutions, serviceable and safe lifts, and prompt response to emergencies,” the Department of Housing and Infrastructure of the Lviv City Council said.
