On 30 August, 22 golden eagle falcons were released from the Rescued Animals Home in Lviv.
Five more remained in the shelter forever.
This was reported to Holos Sokalshchyny by Orest Zalypskyi, head of the Home for Rescued Animals.
“In most cases, they were caught as babies when they were learning to fly or fell out of nests somewhere. People took them away from cats when they were still small and not quite good at flying. Some had wing injuries, some had leg injuries,” Orest Zalypskyi said.
According to him, the falcons were brought to the Home of Rescued Animals between mid-May and the end of June 2024. All the birds were fattened, those who needed it were treated and taught to hunt.
Five of them stayed in the shelter forever because they had injuries incompatible with returning to the wild.
