Today, the creators of the documentary film “Iron Butterflies” about MH17 – director Roman Lyubiy and producer and cameraman Andriy Kotlyar – visited the Lviv City Hall today. At the meeting with the mayor Andrii Sadov, they talked about the film, the situation in Lviv and the country in general. The guests also expressed their admiration for the work of the NEZLAMNI rehabilitation center.
“Your work is unique. First of all, it is a countermeasure to Russian propaganda. Speaking and showing the truth is our weapon. This is a very powerful weapon. Thank you for what you are doing,” said Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy.
The creators of the film emphasized that the world knows the truth about the terrible crimes of the Russians in Ukraine thanks to the media, which documented these events and spread them as much as possible.
“The story with Buchya. All this became known how the media got there after de-occupation. It destroyed the narratives of the Russians about some kind of liberation there, and it really worked. The power of the media worked. Therefore, I always say that it is not necessary to limit access, but on the contrary – to talk about it and show it as much as possible. The world should know the truth about the events in Ukraine,” noted producer and cinematographer Andriy Kotlyar.
“The most valuable thing, probably, is to feel this feedback from a reader or viewer, who say that we really have a Ukrainian view of the war of the Russians against us, a view of this catastrophe that the Russians made on our land,” – emphasized director Roman Lyubiy.
Andriy Sadovy also talked about the ecosystem of care and support UNBROKEN, which is being built in Lviv. The guests were impressed by the scope of the work of doctors in prosthetics, in particular, the work of the prosthetics workshop, where prostheses are not only installed, but also directly manufactured. Therefore, they expressed their desire to cooperate with the prosthetic workshop.
