The Green Sofa Gallery will open the exhibition The Power of the Moment, featuring works by the artist Zakentiy Gorobiov.
Each of the works to be presented at the exhibition calls to be in the moment, to live it, to be here and now. Entrance to the exhibition is free.
Formerly a resident of Luhansk, and since 2007 a resident of Kyiv, muralist, graphic designer, calligrapher and lettering specialist, book illustrator and contemporary artist Zakentiy Gorobiov brings his project “The Power of the Moment” to Lviv. The exhibition will feature about 30 works that were partially exhibited in Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv on canvas and plywood.
“This project is a reflection of moments in life. It is a record of the state in a specific time period, in specific life situations and geographical locations.
The moment takes on a geometric shape, colour and a specific verbal representation (textual form). The list of these characteristics is formed by the average perception and social contract.
Each of the works calls us to be in the moment, to live it, regardless of the past or the future, to be here and now, with body and mind.
The graphic solution emphasises the Buddhist line of the series: sometimes the phrase can be easily read, while in some works it becomes completely abstract. The essence of the message is hidden behind the colour spot, leaving the viewer the opportunity to find it and join the philosophical context, live the moment, focus on the here and now. Or pass by to find this call later, when it becomes close and understandable,” the artist himself says about “The Power of the Moment”.
The exhibition will be open at the Green Sofa Gallery (7, Virmenska St.) from 25 June to 21 July. Gallery opening hours are 12:00 – 19:00, from Tuesday to Sunday (Monday is closed).
