On August 14, opposite the monument to Taras Shevchenko, an artistic theatrical performance “Obzhynka” was held for Lviv residents and guests of the city.
The organizers of the event stress that obzhynky is a harvest festival and a holiday of unity. Ukrainians believed that these symbols help to return to their own family when they are born. This is a kind of crown of agricultural work, the celebration of this event is in a magnificent cow made of the flour of the new harvest and in a large sheaf of red viburnum.
During the holiday, such collectives as the People’s Amateur Folklore Ensemble “Bereginya” of the ND village demonstrated their creative work. Zvenigorod Davydivska TG director: Vira Kirnychuk, Exemplary amateur choreographic ensemble “Fashion” ND village. The requests of the Novoyarychivska TG are directed by: Hrystyna Hnidec and Oksana Lotysh, choreographic group “Zvenyhorodski patsorki” of the Zvenyhorod Children’s School of Arts, director: Viktor Slobozhan.
Visitors also had the opportunity to view the exhibition of folk art by masters and artists of the Lviv region.
