YASNO explained why the amount of payment for electricity increases in the payments at a time when there is no electricity

Найперше: справа у відкладеному, або підвищеному споживанні електроенергії після того, як постачання відновлюють.

The amount in payments may increase, despite the power outage, due to delayed, increased consumption of electricity, as well as in the case of irregular transmission of meter readings, said Serhii Kovalenko, CEO of the energy supplier Yasno.

“The most common question in the comments now is: if there is almost no supply, why do I say that consumption has not decreased/why payments have increased? I will explain.

First of all: it is a matter of delayed or increased consumption of electricity after the supply is restored.

When the lights are turned on, everything is turned on in the sockets – phone chargers, power banks, boilers, washing machines, vacuum cleaners. There is a sharp jump in consumption. On the one hand, such a load can cause an accident, due to which residents will again be left without electricity. On the other hand, the amount of electricity that was saved during the shutdown can be compensated in this way. Therefore, at the end of the month, it turns out that the customer used the same amount of electricity as in the periods when blackouts were not applied,” he says.

Serhiy Kovalenko explained that switching off is important because it is about consumption at a specific moment in time. Because specific volumes of electricity are produced, which cannot be exceeded.

The next reason, which concerns records, is when meter readings are transmitted irregularly or late.

“If the readings are submitted on time, the bill will show the amount for actual consumption only. If the readings are not delivered on time, the amount of electricity consumed by the customer is determined by the average daily consumption. It is calculated depending on the readings recorded earlier in past periods.

Therefore, the amount in the account may be higher than usual. Even if, due to the power outage, consumption in general decreased for the month,” he noted.
