A 23-year-old resident of Chervonograd was caught red-handed during a shop robbery

The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

On October 13, around two o’clock in the morning, criminal police operatives of the Chervonohrad district police department, while working out the service area, noticed a suspicious man coming out of the premises of a store located on Sheptytskogo Street in the district center. At the same time, the tapes on the entrance door of the commercial establishment and the door itself were damaged.

The police detained the man – he had a tablet and goods he had just stolen from a store. The identity of the intruder has been established – he turned out to be a 23-year-old local resident.

Investigators of the territorial unit of the police informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a crime, provided for in Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty for the perpetrator is up to eight years in prison.

It was also established that the suspect was involved in three similar thefts from commercial establishments. The court chose a preventive measure for him – detention.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
