Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office in Lviv, a 36-year-old Lviv resident was found guilty of evading military service during mobilization (Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
Prosecutors proved in court that the military medical commission had found the defendant medically fit for military service. Consequently, he was handed a summons to report for a certain day to be sent to the army against his signature.
However, the man subsequently failed to report to the territorial center for recruitment and social support for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine without good reason. Thus, the person liable for military service violated the requirements of the current legislation and evaded military conscription.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
