A 40-year-old resident of Novoyavorivsk transported conscripts across the border

The perpetrator, a 40-year-old resident of the city of Novoyavorivsk, was exposed by operatives of the Migration Police Department together with employees of the investigative department and the Department of Operational-Technical Support of the Lviv Oblast Police, operatives of the Lviv Border Squad, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

It was established that together with an accomplice, the suspect produced fictitious documents that allowed men of conscription age to cross the state border of Ukraine as parents of many children. The attacker valued his services at 5,000 US dollars.

On September 18, investigators informed the detainee of suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in part 3 of article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and part 3 of article 358 (Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The maximum punishment provided by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for a term of up to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

It will be recalled that earlier the law enforcement officers had already informed the accomplice of the suspect, a 40-year-old resident of Novoyavorivsk, about the suspicion of committing this crime.
