A 61-year-old and a 34-year-old man were found guilty of the intentional murder of a law enforcement officer by the prosecutors of the Zhovkiv district prosecutor’s office of the Lviv region (clauses 4, 12, part 2 of article 115, article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
They were sentenced to life imprisonment and 15 years of imprisonment, respectively.
Prosecutors proved in court that in April 2015, at night, in Radekhiv Oblast, convicts brutally killed a district police inspector.
Previously, they drank alcoholic beverages near the store, where there were local residents, including a law enforcement officer.
Later, a fight broke out between the senior accused and one of the visitors. District officer intervened in the conflict and tried to stop it.
However, in response he received blows with fists and a trumpet, from which he fell to the ground and lost consciousness. Then the convict tied the victim’s leg with a chain to a horse harness and, together with his accomplice, dragged him along the roads of the village. Halfway there, he ordered the latter to return home, and he threw the victim’s corpse into a ditch outside the village and fled the scene.
