Resident of Slavske will spend more than a year in prison for abuse of wife and stepson, failure to comply with restraining order
Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, a 68-year-old resident of Slavske was convicted of domestic violence and intentional failure to comply with a restraining order (Articles 126-1 and 390-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 1 year and 1 month in prison.
The prosecutor proved in court that the defendant committed domestic violence against his wife and her adult son, who are disabled in groups I and II, respectively. In particular, the man humiliated and used foul language towards his relatives.
For a long time, the defendant was unemployed, often abused alcohol and systematically committed domestic violence against his wife and his stepson, for which he was repeatedly convicted.
In addition, the defendant violated the requirements of the restraining order in terms of a ban on approaching the victim’s apartment.
All of this led to psychological suffering and caused emotional stress, fatigue and negative feelings, as well as a deterioration in the quality of life of the victims.
