A Resident of Lviv Region Suspected of Fraud of UAH 800,000 through Fake Sales of Drones

The investigative authorities of the Lviv region have charged a 28-year-old resident with fraud in a criminal case. The woman is accused of embezzling nearly UAH 800,000 from a volunteer to whom she promised to sell ten drones for the military, which did not actually exist.

According to information from the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office in Lviv, the suspect created fake accounts on social media platforms Instagram and Telegram, where she posted advertisements for the prospective sale of military equipment and household appliances. Potential buyers were offered the opportunity to make a full prepayment.

The money received from the volunteer to her bank card was spent by the suspect on personal needs. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the National Police of Ukraine with the support of the regional cyber police.

It should be noted that according to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
