Under the procedural supervision of the Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office, the pre-trial investigation was completed and an indictment against a resident of Lviv region was sent to court. She is charged with fraud and legalization of property obtained by criminal means (Part 2, 4 Art. 190, Part 1 Art. 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that the woman fraudulently seized a land plot of almost 0.20 hectares in the village of Sokilnyky (Lviv district). Its value is over UAH 1.3 million.
Previously, in 2007, the accused sold this land plot. However, she had a notarized copy of the State Act on the right of private ownership of the land, with which she applied to licensed business entities. The woman, posing as the owner, changed the area of the land plot to a smaller one, according to her application. Subsequently, she divided it into two parts, which, accordingly, were assigned new cadastral numbers.
Subsequently, the defendant re-alienated these “new” separate land plots to two persons, taking possession of their funds.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 3 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
