The traffic accident occurred on December 4 at 6:40 p.m. on the Lviv-Lutsk highway in the village of Remeniv, Lviv district.
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf car, a 43-year-old man from Lviv, hit a pedestrian, a 62-year-old local resident, who was crossing the roadway within the pedestrian crossing. As a result of the collision, the man was injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
