An attempt to illegally cross the state border outside the checkpoints was stopped by the border guards of the “Krakivets” department of the Lviv detachment. The detainees turned out to be men who did not have legal grounds for crossing the state border.
Yesterday, during the inspection of a Škoda car, the border guard discovered a group of people who could not explain the purpose of their stay at the border guard and probably intended to enter Poland illegally. In order to verify information from the unit, additional teams have been appointed.
During the search, a few tens of meters from the state border, the border guards of the “Grushiv” department found and detained five residents of Zakarpattia and Zhytomyr regions, aged between 21 and 24. During the conversation, the detainees admitted that they intended to enter the EU countries illegally for the purpose of employment.
All detainees were taken to the border unit for inspection and prosecution under Art. 204-1 of the Criminal Procedure Code “Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine.” The further fate of the detainees will be decided by the court.
