The traffic accident happened today, May 5, around 11:30 a.m., in the village of Krasne, Zolochiv district
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Passat, a 38-year-old resident of Busk, lost control and drove into the oncoming traffic lane, where he collided with a Renault Premium truck driven by a 60-year-old resident of one of the villages of Zolochiv district.
The passenger of the passenger car, a 38-year-old resident of Buska, died at the scene of the injuries sustained in the accident.
It was established that the Volkswagen Passat driver was intoxicated. He is detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a preventive measure for him.
According to the fact, the investigators of the department of investigation of crimes in the field of transport of the police of Lviv region opened criminal proceedings under part 3 of article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons who drive vehicles in a state of intoxication, which caused the death of the victim) of the Criminal Code Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of five to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
