In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers informed the head of the trade union of the enterprise about the suspicion of bribery. The perpetrator, a 61-year-old resident of Drohobytskyi district, was exposed by the investigators of the department of investigation of crimes in the field of economic and official activities of the police investigation department of the Lviv region together with operatives of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv region. specialized prosecutor’s office in the field of defense of the Western region.
As the law enforcement officers established, the head of the primary trade union organization of one of the regional offices of PJSC “Ukrnafta” offered and handed over to the head of the security service of the territorial division of the Security Department of the same company an illegal benefit in the amount of 500 US dollars.
According to the attacker, the head of the security service should have used these funds to cover up violations in the work of the trade union that he discovered during the inspection, in particular, during the issuance of medical and health vouchers to persons who had nothing to do with the enterprise. As a result, the organization suffered significant losses.
On September 6, law enforcement officers detained the head of the trade union organization in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after he transferred the entire amount of illegal benefits to the head of the security service.
Investigators informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense, provided for in part 3 of article 369 (Offer, promise or giving an illegal benefit to an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of four to eight years with or without confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
