Suspicion was reported to three persons who manufactured falsified household chemicals under the name of a well-known American brand.
Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, three members of an organized group were notified of the suspicion of illegal use of the mark for goods and services (Part 3 of Article 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, during 2021-2022, an organized group operated under the guise of a well-known American brand of household chemicals that organized the systematic manufacture and sale of products of unknown origin.
After analyzing which products are in demand, the suspects, without the permission of the right holder, manufactured household chemicals and sold them in packages with labels of well-known brands throughout Ukraine, including in the Lviv region. Trade was carried out at prices lower than the average market, wholesale and retail.
During the searches, the law enforcement officers seized counterfeit products, labels, containers, a printer for making labels, and other material evidence.
Material damages are estimated at UAH 200,000.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the TU BEB in the Lviv region, under the operational support of the Criminal Investigation Department in the Lviv region of the DPK of the NP of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
