The State Border Guard Service effectively uses the database of the International Criminal Police Organization, Interpol. In particular, this weekend, servicemen of the Lviv detachment found stolen cars.
The 2020 Land Rover and 2019 Audi SUVs, driven by Ukrainians, were traveling through the Krakivets and Shehyni checkpoints.
During the border control, the database was triggered. As the border guards found out, the vehicles with Ukrainian registration were stolen in Germany and Canada, respectively.
The border guards immediately informed the Ukrainian Interpol Bureau in Kyiv and received confirmation of the information about the vehicles. The vehicles and the drivers were handed over to the National Police.
