In Lviv region, police detained criminals who brutally beat an acquaintance, causing him fatal injuries
The detainees, residents of Ivano-Frankivsk region, face up to ten years’ imprisonment for their crimes.
According to law enforcement officers, on 2 November, around 17.00, in a village of Stryi district, a conflict arose between three men – residents of Ivano-Frankivsk region aged 43, 40 and 37 – while drinking alcohol, during which two older men severely beat the younger one, causing him serious bodily injuries that resulted in his death.
Criminal police operatives and investigators of the Stryi District Police Department, as well as officers of the Police Department No. 1 of the Stryi District Police Department, were involved in solving the crime.
Law enforcement officers detained the offenders in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of serving them a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offence under Part 2 Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being settled under the procedural supervision of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office. The article provides for a sentence of imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a measure of restraint.
