A 43-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Stryi district faces up to eight years in prison for the crime.
As determined by the operatives of the criminal police together with the investigators and inquirers of the Stryi district police department, on July 6, around 4:30 p.m., in the shop of one of the enterprises located in the city of Zhydachiv, a dispute arose between the intruder and the employee of the enterprise, a 53-year-old local resident, which turned into conflict. Then the man struck the woman several times with a metal pipe in different parts of the body, causing severe injuries.
Later, doctors diagnosed the victim with, in particular, a ruptured spleen.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings opened under Part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, under the procedural leadership of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, has been completed. The indictment is referred to the court. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.
