In Zolochiv Oblast, a motorcyclist hit a pedestrian and fled the scene

The vehicle that was involved in the collision was taken to a special area by the law enforcement officers. The 29-year-old motorcyclist faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.

The traffic accident happened on May 6 around 10 p.m. in the village of Pobuzhany, Zolochiv district.

An unknown motorcyclist hit a pedestrian – a 60-year-old local resident and fled the scene. As a result of the accident, the man was injured and taken to the hospital.

As a result of the measures carried out by the operatives of the criminal police, together with investigators and employees of the response sector of the patrol police of police department No. 2 of the Zolochiv district police department, they established that the pedestrian was hit by a 29-year-old local resident of a nearby village, who was driving a “Lifan” motorcycle. The police established his whereabouts, the vehicle that was involved in the collision was seized at a special site.

According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.

The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
