The prosecutors of the Chervonograd District Prosecutor’s Office sent an indictment to the court against two residents of Volyn on the facts of illegal logging (Part 4 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in November 2022, the accused carried out illegal felling of trees without a special permit in the protective forest plantations of the railway in the Chervonohrad region.
As a result of such actions, about UAH 500,000 in damages were caused to the state.
At the request of the prosecutor, in order to ensure compensation for the damage caused, the property of the accused was seized.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of Police Department No. 2 of the Chervonohrad District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
