The police arrested an intruder who stole goods and money from a local cafe in Lviv

In Lviv, the police detained a previously convicted criminal on suspicion of theft from a cafe

On November 22, around 7:00 p.m., the police received a report that goods and money were stolen from one of the cafes located on Bazarnaya Street in Lviv.

Criminal investigation operatives of the police of Lviv Oblast, as well as operatives of the criminal police and investigators of police department No. 1 of Lviv district police department No. 1 were involved in solving the crime.

According to the law enforcement officers, the intruder broke into the closed cafe, picked up the key to the front door, stole goods and money from the premises, and then ran away.

Through the conducted measures, the law enforcement officers established the location of the intruder within an hour and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The detainee’s identity has been established – he turned out to be a previously convicted 40-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district, physical evidence was seized from him. Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the detainee.

According to the fact, investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Galicia District Prosecutor’s Office, opened criminal proceedings under part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article is up to eight years of imprisonment.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
