Lviv Police Uncovered a Group of Criminals Distributing Drugs

In Lviv, a Group of Individuals Suspected of Distributing Drugs and Psychotropics Was Arrested

It has been established that three Lviv residents aged 24, 31, and 39 organized the distribution of the narcotic methadone, psychotropic substances MDMA, and PVP through drop-offs and hand-to-hand methods throughout Lviv, as well as using postal shipments. Additionally, they supplied prohibited substances to places of detention.

Operation to Expose the Criminals

The criminals were uncovered by operatives from the Department for Combating Drug Crimes of the Lviv Police, in cooperation with investigators from Police Department #2 of the Lviv District Police Department #2, officers of the Criminal Analysis Department of the Lviv Police, under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office. Arrests were carried out with the forceful support of KORD fighters and special forces of the Lviv Police.

During sanctioned searches at the suspects’ residences, police found and seized: parcels and packages with substances resembling cannabis and methadone, as well as the psychotropic PVP, packaging materials, electronic scales, and other physical evidence of their involvement in illegal activities. All seized items have been sent for research to the Lviv Forensic Research and Criminalistics Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Legal Consequences for the Suspects

The monthly income of the criminals amounted to approximately 150,000 hryvnias. They have been charged with committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment, or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogs) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.

One of the criminals has been detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, while others are in custody by court decision. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
