Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, two officials of one of the divisions of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” were exposed and reported on suspicion of extorting and receiving illegal benefits (Part 3, Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Three employees of the company were also informed of the suspicion of offering and providing an illegal benefit (Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the officials demanded and received money from the employees of the enterprise, which provides services for the transportation of goods by rail. For an illegal benefit, the suspects promised to repair wagons owned by the business entity out of line.
In general, the facts of the company’s employees providing illegal benefits in the total amount of UAH 130,000 have been documented.
Investigations are ongoing.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the Main Department of the National Police of the region, operational support is carried out by the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
