At the ‘Rava-Ruska’ border crossing, the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Unit, together with customs officials, discovered chewing gums and a spray containing a narcotic substance in a foreigner’s possession. The find was made during control measures.
During the inspection of luggage, products containing a narcotic substance – cannabidiol were found among the personal items of a US citizen.
A notification of the detection of signs of a possible criminal offense under Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, or shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogs without the intent to sell) has been sent.
Since the beginning of 2025, the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Unit has detected 69 cases of trafficking in narcotic and psychotropic substances and precursors at checkpoints in the Lviv region, with a total weight of over one kilogram.
