Yesterday, a road accident occurred on Mechnykova Street in Lviv. The driver of a Kia Niro collided with a Nissan X-Trail in front of him.
Upon arriving at the scene, patrol officers identified the cause of the crash. The 63-year-old driver responsible for the collision showed clear signs of alcohol intoxication. A test conducted using a Drager device revealed a blood alcohol level of 2.10‰. The violator has been held accountable, and appropriate protocols have been issued.
Violations Statistics for December 2024
Throughout December, police in the Lviv region issued 658 protocols to drivers caught operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol. Due to such violations, 13 accidents with injuries were recorded in December, leaving 22 people injured.
