By the decision of the court, initiated by the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office of the Lviv Region, a lawsuit to restore the state’s rights to a 1-hectare land plot within the local significance forest reserve ‘White Shore’ was satisfied. The area, located in the Peremyshlyany Forestry, is significant for preserving unique tree plantings and biodiversity of the region.
The reserve is part of the natural reserve fund of Ukraine, protected by a special conservation regime. In 2020, according to the order of the Main Department of State Geocadastre of the Lviv Region, the land was transferred to the Peremyshlyany City Council, which was done illegally. Further use of this land by agricultural or other parties could have caused irreparable damage to valuable natural resources.
The right of ownership of the Lviv Regional Council on this parcel has been restored according to the court decision, which has come into legal force. This will ensure the proper execution of nature protection functions and appropriate use of the land.
