Lviv resident to spend three years behind bars for evading mobilisation

Following a public prosecution by the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv, a 34-year-old Lviv resident was found guilty of evading conscription for military service during mobilisation (Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

The prosecutors proved in court that the defendant was found medically fit for military service, as confirmed by the conclusion of the military medical commission. However, he refused to receive a military call-up notice and serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, the person liable for military service violated the requirements of the current legislation and evaded military conscription.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Oblast.

The court verdict will come into force after the expiration of the appeal period.
