In Drohobych, the police arrested an intruder on suspicion of robbing a cafe visitor

The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

On May 5, around 3:30 p.m., in one of the cafes in Drohobych, an unknown man tore the chain from the neck of a visitor, a 62-year-old local resident, and then ran away.

Detectives of the criminal police, investigators and employees of other services of the Drohobytsk District Police Department were involved in solving the crime. The law enforcement officers conducted a complex of operational and investigative measures, during which they established that a 24-year-old resident of the district was involved in the theft.

With the help of video surveillance cameras installed as part of the “Safe Lviv Region” program, the police found the location of the intruder and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Physical evidence was taken from him.

According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
