The road accident occurred on 23 June, around 13.00, on the Lviv-Shehyni road on Lvivska Street in Horodok, Lviv district.
As the law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Mersedes-Benz GLE 300D, a 67-year-old Lviv resident, hit a pedestrian, a 26-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, a female pedestrian was injured and hospitalised.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the rules of road safety). The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
