The traffic accident happened on April 4, around 4:45 p.m., on the Ternopil-Lviv-Rava-Ruska highway near the town of Rava-Ruska, Lviv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen ID4 car, a 37-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district, hit a pedestrian, a 28-year-old man from Lviv.
As a result of the accident, the man was injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the fact, investigators of police department #2 of Lviv district police department #1 opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
