In Lviv, a drunk motorcyclist fled from motorcycle patrol officers

In Lviv, on Vyhovskoho Street, motorcycle patrol officers stopped a 25-year-old rider of a Honda CB 600F who, in full view of the police, crossed a double solid line and then attempted to flee from law enforcement.

After the stop signal was given, the motorcyclist ignored the order and, while escaping, drove through a red traffic light three times. He then left the city limits, hoping to shake off the patrol officers, but they nevertheless managed to stop him.

The rider was issued fixed penalty notices for each of the traffic offences committed, and a report was drawn up for failing to comply with a lawful police order to stop. In addition, the man showed signs of alcohol intoxication.

The motorcyclist underwent a drink-driving test in a medical facility. The Drager device showed 1.11 per mille of alcohol in his system. For this, another report was drawn up for driving a vehicle while intoxicated. It is noted that this rider had previously been held liable for drink-driving and had been disqualified from driving for one year.

In the first five months of this year, in the territory of Lviv region, police officers drew up 3,225 reports under Article 130 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences (driving a vehicle while intoxicated). There were 73 road traffic collisions involving drunk drivers that resulted in injuries, in which 97 people were hurt and 4 people were killed.
