The attacker, a 44-year-old man from Lviv who had a previous conviction, was detained by operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Lviv Oblast Police during a search of the territory of the city of Lviv.
On July 28, around 1:00 p.m., the police noticed how an unknown man entered the interior of a Mercedes car parked on Shevchenko Avenue, stole money from a purse and tried to escape.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Galicia District Prosecutor’s Office, opened criminal proceedings under part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.
