A 28-year-old man from Lviv, who is suspected of illegal sale of drugs and psychotropic substances, was exposed by operatives of the Department of Combating Narcotic Crime of the Lviv Oblast Police together with investigators of Police Department No. 2 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2. The police found and seized from the detainee: polyethylene bags with a powdery substance similar to the psychotropic drug “amphetamine”, with a substance of vegetable origin similar to the narcotic drug “cannabis”, with a substance similar to the psychotropic substance “PVP”, pills similar to a psychotropic the substance “MDMA”, packaging materials and other material evidence.
Everything seized was sent to the Lviv Research Expert Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for research.
The value of the detected narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances at the prices of the “black” market is about one and a half million hryvnias.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office, informed him of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is imprisonment for a term of up to ten years with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
