The Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office sent an indictment to the court against two persons on the facts of organizing the illegal transportation of conscripts across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that a Lviv resident together with a resident of Volyn organized a scheme for illegal border crossing by military personnel. For 8,000 US dollars, they promised a ride to the border and an unobstructed crossing of the border control.
For this purpose, the defendants drove the conscript to the border crossing point in the neighboring region. There they put their “client” in a car with volunteers going abroad.
When the car went through passport control, relevant information about the conscript’s crossing of the border was not entered into the “Hart” border control system. Thanks to this, the latter crossed the border without hindrance.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Department of the National Police of the region, operational support was carried out by the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Lviv Region of the SSR of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
