An intruder accused of hooliganism will be tried in Lviv – he attacked a passer-by with a knife

A 41-year-old man from Lviv, who is in custody, faces up to seven years in prison for his crime.

According to the law enforcement officers, on September 20, around 12:00, on Sheptytskyi Street in Lviv, an attacker attacked a passer-by, a 32-year-old local resident, and stabbed him in the chest with a knife, after which he fled.

Soon after, patrolling police officers found the man on one of the nearby streets, detained him and handed him over to the investigators.

Investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Galicia District Prosecutor’s Office, completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings opened under part 4 of Article 296 (Hooliganism committed with the use of firearms or cold weapons or other objects specially adapted or prepared in advance for infliction of bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The indictment is referred to the court.

For the crime committed, the accused is liable to imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
