In this way, a 29-year-old resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region intended to organize an illegal transfer for two men under the guise of drivers carrying out transportation.
In order to “solve” the issue of the illegal departure of pseudo-drivers abroad, the man offered the border guard of the “Sheghini” department of the Lviv detachment an illegal benefit in the amount of 1,000 US dollars, to which he was categorically refused.
During urgent investigative actions, within the framework of criminal proceedings under Art. 369 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the fact of providing an illegal benefit to a border guard was documented by a joint interdepartmental group consisting of officers of the Border Security Force from the Lviv Border Detachment of the Security Guard “West”, the Department of Internal Security of the National Police, and investigators of the investigative department of the State Police of Lviv Region, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Western Region.
The perpetrator was detained according to Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. The law enforcement officers informed the man of the suspicion under part 3 of Art. 369 “Offer, promise or provision of an unlawful benefit to an official.” The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of four to eight years. Investigations are ongoing.
