The road accident occurred on 31 January, around one in the morning, in the village of Volytsia, Chervonohrad district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a VA3 2101, a 30-year-old resident of one of the district’s villages, lost control, drove off the roadway, and the car overturned.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the car and his passenger, a 26-year-old local resident, were injured and hospitalised.
It was also established that the driver was driving the vehicle while intoxicated.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Chervonohrad District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of three to five years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
