The detainee, a 38-year-old local resident, faces up to eight years in prison for the crime.
On August 26, around 8:00 p.m., the police received a report from a 37-year-old resident of Zhidachev that he had been stabbed in one of the apartments on Knyazhy Brid Street.
The investigative and operative group and other employees of the police department No. 1 of the Stryi district police department worked at the scene of the incident.
The police established that that day the victim came to visit a 38-year-old resident of Zhydachev. During the drinking of alcoholic beverages, a conflict arose between the men, during which the owner of the apartment stabbed the guest in the abdomen with a knife. He was hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
