The road accident occurred on February 26, at about 19.15, in the village of Sknyliv, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a 36-year-old local resident, hit a pedestrian, a 45-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the man was injured and hospitalized in intensive care.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 3 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
