Law enforcement officers constantly conduct preventive work with road users, urging drivers not to drive while intoxicated, warning about the dangers of driving while intoxicated and the liability provided by law.
Thus, during the specified period, 143 traffic accidents involving drivers who were in a state of intoxication were registered in the territory of the Lviv oblast, 22 of which involved victims. In these car accidents, 1 person died and 34 were injured.
In total, during 2022, the police of the Lviv region identified and brought to justice 4,672 drivers who drove vehicles while intoxicated – they were issued reports under Article 130 (Driving vehicles or vessels by persons under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxication or under the influence of drugs that reduce their attention and speed of reaction) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
Police officers call on drivers to strictly comply with the requirements of traffic laws, and also not to drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxication. Law enforcement officers remind that such an offense carries a fine of 17,000 to 51,000 hryvnias with the deprivation of the right to drive and confiscation of the vehicle.
