Prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office sent an indictment against a Ukrainian citizen to court. She is charged with justifying, recognising as lawful, denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and glorifying its participants (parts 2, 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that during 2023-2024, a resident of Yavoriv district repeatedly posted materials on the banned social network Odnoklassniki in which she publicly justified crimes and armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

In particular, in her posts, the accused asserted that the war in Ukraine was natural. It is a consequence of the alleged aggression of the Ukrainian side against the population of Donbas for eight years.

The 47-year-old woman also posted an image with a text of condolences to a militant of the so-called ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’ who died at the hands of ‘Nazis’, asking for prayers for him.

In addition, the defendant disseminated information about the occupation of the city of Lysychansk (Luhansk region), calling it “liberation”. In this way, she denied the fact of temporary seizure of the territory, while supporting the aggressor country.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by investigators of the SBU Office in Lviv region.
