Under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv, three Lviv residents were reportedly suspected of committing intentional acts aimed at inciting national hatred and hatred, humiliating national honor and dignity (Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, three men in the social network “Classmates” created public personal accounts and made them open to an unlimited number of people, in order to incite national hatred and hatred, humiliate the national honor and dignity of the Ukrainian nation and its historical past, statehood and sovereignty. systematically posted posts and disseminated information on the issue of confrontation in the Donbass.
In general, in their letters, the participants criticized Ukrainians who support the ideas of the country’s independent political course, the Ukrainian government and Ukraine as a state as a whole.
In particular, one of the men spread various aggressive appeals and fabrications about the image of the “Banderas”, as well as justified and recognized the legitimate armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Another was spreading various aggressive appeals about pro-Western, pro-European Ukrainians, which make people feel angry, alienated, and provoke national enmity or discord.
Investigative actions are underway, the issue of choosing a measure of restraint for the suspects is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation is underway, carried out by investigators of the LUP № 2 GU NP in Lviv region according to the USBU in Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved in law and established by a court conviction.
